U.S. forces in Iraq conducted a self-defense strike that killed Mushtaq Jawad Kazim al-Jawari, a leader of the Iran-backed Harakat-al-Nujaba terrorist group that is operating both in Iraq and Syria, the Pentagon press secretary said.
The U.S. remains committed to providing a persistent defensive presence in the Red Sea alongside allies and partners, the commander of Naval Forces Central Command said.
